Moms Adopting Moms was first imagined and its proof of concept launched in 2018 but only recently is it being made into a 501c3 charity. We are based out of Athens, Georgia and will serve families in the 12 counties of region 5 initially and then put the model we have developed into the hands of other regions and states to implement nationwide. Our mission is simple - create and maintain a supportive and nurturing relationship between the foster and biological mothers whose children they have in common in order to achieve reunification and maintain that connection beyond reunification. This approach has a four fold benefit:
1) For the children - no longer do they have to lose the connection to their birth parents while in care or to their foster parents when they are reunified. The deep and meaningful connections are maintained.
2) For the biological family who need continued support, encouragement and resources post reunification to thrive. The foster family becomes their adopted family with a deep connection from caring for their children
3) For the foster family that have struggled for years with the heartache of raising and loving kids and having to say good bye to them. This will no longer be the case because that relationship is maintained. Only the child's residence changes - the relationship, the connection remains for a lifetime.
4) For the case managers - their job will be made easier and their load lightened as they have a team of people around them working for one single goal - to give the children in care the best possible loving permanence outcome.

We partner with a variety of organizations and businesses in our community to provide comprehensive A-Z assistance of resources available to our clients in their local area. This runs the gambit from detox and rehabilitation centers to counseling offices, work placements to training colleges, childcare options, transportation assistance, food banks, clothing closets and housing referrals. We want to connect (in order) the steps a bio parent must take to complete their case plan, achieve reunification and thrive post reunification. We want to do the majority of this work through an automated back end technology solution that frees up valuable human resources (like peer mentors, case workers and foster parents) to provide the love, care, encouragement and common sense to each case as needed. With this technology, millions of dollars will be saved nationwide but more importantly, thousands of families will be spared unnecessary trauma and disruption.
We imagine a time when life is just easier for everyone involved in the foster care process. We imagine a day when the crisis has ended and the system is no longer broken. We imagine a time when life is just easier for everyone involved in the foster care process. We imagine a day when the crisis has ended and the system is no longer broken. We imagine a day when case workers are not overwhelmed, foster parents aren't ready to throw in the towel and biological parents aren't asked to achieve the impossible and if they don't, they lose their kids. We believe this is not just a dream but can become a reality if we utilize the technology of tomorrow, today.
By developing a machine learning and AI driven approach to the collection and dissemination of data relevant to fostering and family preservation, we hope to develop a model, easily to replicate nation wide to streamline the entire process from the identification of a family at risk to those who already have children in the system so that families are helped faster, kids are returned quicker and families are no longer at risk but are thriving together.
